  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaf)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 12 tsp vanilla syrup (to taste)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, simmer the cherries with about 2 tablespoons of water over low heat for 3-5 minutes until soft. Mash gently to release juices.
  2. Boil 1 cup of water and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain out leaves.
  3. Combine the warm milk with the cherry mixture and heat gently while stirring. Add cinnamon if desired.
  4. Stir in vanilla syrup to sweeten.
  5. Pour brewed tea into a mug and strain the milk-cherry mixture into it, pressing on cherries to extract juice.
  6. Serve hot or allow to cool slightly before pouring over ice.
