  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree (blotted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for icing)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy.
  4. Add egg, maple syrup, and blotted pumpkin puree; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  7. Scoop out dough onto a cookie sheet and space apart.
  8. Bake for 13–15 minutes until edges are golden.
  9. Cool on a rack, then drizzle with maple icing made from powdered sugar and maple syrup.
