  • 56 ripe peaches, cut into wedges
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) salted butter, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Place cubed butter in a baking dish and let it melt for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, ¾ cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined.
  3. Toss peach wedges with remaining brown sugar and maple syrup in another bowl.
  4. Layer half of the peaches over the melted butter in the baking dish. Pour the batter on top without stirring, then layer remaining peaches.
  5. Bake for 50-55 minutes until golden brown and set.
  6. While baking, prepare maple butter by boiling butter and maple syrup together for two minutes.
