  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 (15-ounces) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 (14-ounces) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 loaf Brioche or Challah bread, sliced
  • Maple syrup for drizzling
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, mix melted butter, chopped pecans, brown sugar, and salt to create the topping.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, milk, pumpkin puree, and sweetened condensed milk until combined.
  4. Layer half of the bread slices in a greased baking dish; spread half of the cream cheese mixture over it and pour half of the pumpkin mixture on top. Repeat layers.
  5. Sprinkle the pecan topping evenly over the casserole.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes or until golden brown and set.
